ARTS HAMILTON
2011 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of Arts Hamilton was held June 28th at the Pearl Company. A number issues were discussed and some important items were brought forward by the Board and the membership alike.

First of all, an organization name change was voted into effect. Arts Hamilton will now be known as the Hamilton Arts Council. This name change does not change the mandate of the organization but does represent the an effort to better reflect our role in the community. It was also announced that a new Executive Director had been found by the Board of Directors and would be announced shortly.

For those members who were not able to attend, full delegate packages will be available upon request in PDF form.

Last night also featured a panel discussion about the arts and the community in Hamilton. Featured in this discussion were Councillor Jason Farr, Steph Seagram, and Martinus Geleynse. The discussion was both informative and insightful and a full transcript will be available for download from our website shortly.

The AGM also featured entertainment from noted musical guests David Premi, Annette Paiement, Cam Malcolm, Terra Lightfoot and Emma Rush.

Finally, a raffle draw was held in support of the organization. The prize was a one-of-a-kind oil sketch done by famed Canadian artist Conrad Furey. As promised, the draw was held at the end of the night. For those who could not stay but purchased a ticket here is the winning ticket number:

889924
(congratulations to Jeff Feswick who had the winning ticket)

We want to thank every one of our delegate members and the numerous guests who attended last night's AGM. It was an important milestone in the growth of the organization and we look forward to many more such successful events in the future.
