CALL FOR MEMBER PROFILES

Starting in February 2012, the NEW Hamilton Arts Council Blog will include an ongoing series of Member Profiles that will celebrate the work of our member artists and organizations across all disciplines.

New Member Profiles will be posted to the blog on a bi-weekly basis and will be scheduled wherever possible to ensure equal representation of the range of creative disciplines supported by the Hamilton Arts Council. Members in good standing interested in being included in this recurring feature are invited to download the attached PDF and email their responses to:

Hamilton Area Theatre Guide Nominated !

The Hamilton Arts Council has been nominated for the Brochure or Promotional Piece of the Year Award for the Hamilton Area Theatre Guide 2011-2012 in the Tourism Hamilton Awards of Excellence, occuring Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

Who will you Nominate?

The City of Hamilton is pleased to launch the 2012 Arts Awards! Each year the City recognizes local artists with a civic award and cash prize. We are encouraging nominations from all of the communities across Hamilton.

The 2012 City of Hamilton Arts Awards nomination form is now available. Click HERE for more information. Printed versions of the form are also available at the Culture Division office.

Nomination forms are due on or before Friday, February 17, 2011 by 4:00pm.

King William Art Walk

BENCH DESIGNS AWARDED

Mauro Brunetti, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the King William Art Walk is pleased announced the successful artists in the King William Art Walk Bench Design competition. The three local artists selected are Joan Sturch from Stoney Creek, Steven Twigg from Hamilton and John Carter from Smithville. Their design proposals will be used to create benches to be placed on King William as part of the King William Art Walk.

These designs can be viewed online at the City’s Art in Public Places website, www.hamilton.ca/publicart. Each artist will receive $1500 for their designs. Installation of the benches is planned for summer 2012.

ARTS HAMILTON BINGO

Arts Hamilton holds a Bingo fundraiser every other Thursday at the
downtown Delta Bingo Hall. We depend upon the commitment and hard work of several key volunteers to ensure that this event always goes off without a hitch.
